Maranta plants (more commonly known as Prayer Plant) are some of the most profound and elegant plants you can find. They evergreen, low growing tropical plants which are easy to care for and provide a brilliant foliage with unique look and behaviour.
The leaves have multiple shades of different colours and the marks on the leaves become more vivid as the plant matures. The leaves lie flat during the day and fold upwards or curl during the night, as if it’s praying. This natural process it triggered by change in sunlight.
They are hardy indoor plants, which are easy to maintain and purify the air as they grow while displaying a beautiful foliage.
Sunlight: Low to Medium indirect light.
Watering: Water regularly and keep the soil moist.
Pests: Rarely has pest problems but when is does spider mites are more common.
Repotting: Repot every 2-3 years by dividing the plants.
Fertiliser: Feed a good quality fertiliser at half strength twice a month.
Care tips: the plant loves moisture and direct sunlight can cause leaf burn.
