Alocasia Cucullata

Alocasia Cucullata also known as Chinese Taro or Hooded dwarf elephant ear. It is an ornamental plant with glossy, dark green, uniquely shaped leaves that grow from the base of the plant. The plant produces large number of leaves which grow straight, but as they grow older they start to hang. Place this plant in a bright lit corner and it will fill the space in no time and provide a vintage vibe. It is a real eye-catcher, transparent and yet styled.

Description

Light: Thrives best in bright conditions to partial light shade. Avoid direct sunlight as this will scorch the leaves.

 

Water: Keep the soil most but not damp. Do not let soil dry out between watering.

 

Fertiliser: Administer some liquid food once a month during the growth period. Fertilizing is not necessary in winter.

 

Toxicity: These plants are harmful if eaten and are a skin and eye irritant. Keep out of reach of children and animals.

 

Care Tips: Alocasia have a dormant period where leaves will fade, water the plant less than you generally would.  Over watering will cause the plant to release moisture through leaves. When water drops appear on leaves water less.
